He also discovered the world of jazz through sitting in with local big bands, tuning into the Metropole Orkest on the radio and finding a wonderful album by Brazilian trombonist Raul De Souza by accident in a local electrical store. As a young man Andy served in the Royal Artillery. Band in London and Dortmund ,Germany, with Viola as his 2nd instrument- day 1 rehearsal included Strauss ' Don Juan' in stratospheric treble clef ! The band played with UK entertainer greats such as Harry Secombe and Max Bygraves, and serenaded Lady Diana and Charles at Wembley. Stadium, where it also played in the intermission at football cup finals. Later in the 80s after eclectic freelancing, Andy attended Bournemouth University studying Media Production.
